No need to worry about losing contacts, stored messages, subscriptions, settings or other aspects of your Microsoft account when you create an alias.<\/p>\n<h4>Make a Microsoft Email Account<\/h4>\n<p>Create a new account to change your Microsoft email. You can export your old Microsoft account&#8217;s email messages, contacts, and other data and then import it to your new email address.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Go to login.live.com to sign in with Microsoft.<\/li>\n<li>No Account? Make one!<\/li>\n<li>Input your email address instead of your phone number.<\/li>\n<li>Click Get a New Email.<\/li>\n<li>Enter your email address and choose from outlook.com or hotmail.com.<\/li>\n<li>Next<\/li>\n<li>Then click Next.<\/li>\n<li>Finish the setup by entering your information.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>\u00a0Create an Alias to Microsoft Account<\/h4>\n<p>The easiest way to change your Microsoft email address is to create an alias for your current account. If you prefer, you can use another email address as an alias.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Go to the Add an Alias page and log in with your Microsoft account.<\/li>\n<li>For a new email address, click Create a New Email Address and Add It as an Alias. To use an existing email address, click Add an Email Address as a Microsoft Account Alias.<\/li>\n<li>Click Add Alias and enter the desired email address. You&#8217;ll get a message saying you&#8217;ve linked the alias to your account.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Using an Alias to log in<\/h4>\n<p>You can log in with any alias you create (you can have up to 10 at a time). You can customize your sign-in preferences.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Login to Microsoft Account.<\/li>\n<li>On the next page, click Your Info.<\/li>\n<li>Manage Your Sign-In Method<\/li>\n<li>Click Modify Sign-in Preferences.<\/li>\n<li>Uncheck any aliases you don&#8217;t want to use to log in and click Save.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Change Your Primary Alias<\/h4>\n<p>You can select an alias as your primary email address.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Login to Microsoft Account.<\/li>\n<li>On the next page, click Your Info.<\/li>\n<li>Manage Your Sign-In Method<\/li>\n<li>Select the alias as your primary email address in Microsoft and click Make Primary.<\/li>\n<li>Confirm with Yes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Select an Alias for Outlook.com<\/h4>\n<p>If you use Outlook.com to read and send emails, you can choose which alias appears in the From line.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Open Outlook.com.<\/li>\n<li>Click the gear icon in the upper right corner.<\/li>\n<li>Select View All Outlook Settings from the settings menu.<\/li>\n<li>In the Settings window, click Sync Email.<\/li>\n<li>In the Set Default From Address list, select the alias.<\/li>\n<li>Click Save and close.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If your Microsoft email address no longer meets your needs, you can create a new one or add an alias.
